Fire Drill

Saturday night I found a big bulge, like a tumor, on Marley's side. Needless to say, I freaked out. I think I broke my trimmers trying to shave him to get a better look, because Marley really has a whole lot of hair. I took him to the emergency hospital today, even though it was something my regular vet should've been able to do. But since my vet didn't diagnose Peekay correctly, who was riddled with cancer, I didn't feel like taking Marley there. I thought, hey, I'll take him to the hospital, they're competent. But I wasn't emotionally prepared for how hard returning the scene of Peekay's death would be. I was a sniffling basketcase, from making the appt through the examination and even while checking out. The vet was like, hey lady, it's just a lipoma fat deposit, he'll be fine. Yeah, but will I ever be?

One Big Year

Today is our one year anniersary. Kind of crazy, actually. It doesn't feel like a year has gone by, but at the same time we've gone through a major surgery, the death of a family member (Peekay), and two international vacations. So I guess we did go through a lot, but at the same time, damn, has it really been a year? I still have a bedroom dedicated to wedding reception decorations that I haven't managed clear out. One of these days. But not anytime soon, I have a lot of business travel over the next quarter, and getting Mike's pilot license and his house sold take priority. And by the way, besides the tragedies, it's been a really great year. Being married is good stuff.

And yes, we made it back from Italy in one piece. I'll post more details and pics soon!

p.s. - I'm not naked. This is the only picture I haven't shared yet. I just don't have the rest of my wedding pics yet....my fault, I just recently selected album pics and am still awaiting the album / digital photos.
